Azerbaijan is trying to make the issue of prisoners of war a subject of the auction, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan told 1in.am on Tuesday, commenting on the need to reform the army.

According to him, this is inappropriate due to the simple fact that the trilateral statement of November 9 last year imposes an obligation to return prisoners, hostages, and other detainees.

The Prime Minister also noted that this is a trilateral statement, and the obligations assumed by the parties within this statement are shared by all the parties who signed it.

He noted that the Armenian side continues to work on this topic and around the specified agenda, and will continue to work until it becomes obvious that there is a real opportunity to resolve the issue.

"And there is a real opportunity to achieve concrete results," he added.
