How much longer will we search for the truth? Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party and head of its parliamentary faction, on Wednesday asked this question on Facebook.

"During [PM] Nikol Pashinyan's interview aired last night, he stated: “We must determine the deep genealogy of the defeat [in the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)]. (…) If this is a defeat that originated within [the last] 2 years or 2 months, let’s record and prove it.’

In the same interview, Pashinyan noted: ‘And why didn't the fired Iskander [ballistic missile of Armenia] explode [in the aforesaid war]?" Or it exploded by 10%.’ Then, when asked by interviewer Nver Mnatsakanyan whether that is what they say, he says, ‘I do not know.’

The question arises as to why in this case the government is against the establishment of a parity fact-finding commission if it is the one that questions—at the highest level—many important issues, including the issue of armaments.

Will the current and former government representatives, current and former representatives of the defense and security domain, field commanders, and others continue to give interviews about the war? Or will they finally realize the importance of a parity fact-finding commission and show political will to create it and to give answers to the questions that concern everyone?" Marukyan added.
