President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his third victory in the parliamentary elections.
Ahmadinejad-Erdogan phone call was followed by a phone conversation between foreign ministers of two countries. Ali Akbar Salehi also congratulated his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on victory in the elections, Hurriyet newspaper writes.
Turkish PM has already received congratulations from President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.
Parliamentary ejections were held in Turkey on Sunday. Ruling Justice and Development Party polled 49.9% of votes, Republican-People’s Party – 25.9%, while Nationalist Movement – 13%.
