The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ara Aivazian, on Thursday met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), David Babayan.
The meeting of the two FM focused on the humanitarian issues—including the urgent return of the Armenian captives—facing Armenia and Artsakh—and which require immediate addressing—as a result of the recent Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression.
In the context of the steps being taken to stabilize the socioeconomic situation in Artsakh, the necessity of engaging international professional organizations on the spot was especially stressed.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views also on the resumption of the Artsakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, emphasizing their consensus that the restoration and protection of the rights of Artsakh Armenians and the establishment of Artsakh's status based on its people's right to self-determination remain key in the peace talks.
