The second existing pillar of Nikol Pashinyan is the police. This is what Vazgen Manukyan, candidate of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement for Prime Minister of Armenia, said before the march at Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan.
“If the chief of the army is dismissed, will the army easily submit? No, it will rebel, and I call on the army to rebel. How can the army submit to a former reporter who doesn’t understand anything? We stand with the army and will defend it until the end, and the army will defend our people until the end. If the army stands strong, the police can’t flounder. I know very dignified police officers who are all against Nikol Pashinyan. Some are afraid that they will lose their jobs, while others submit their resignation letters. I promise that those who have been relieved of their posts or have resigned for political reasons will serve again. We won’t allow political persecutions,” Manukyan announced.
