February 28 is the day of remembrance of the victims of the pogroms of Armenians in the Azerbaijan SSR and the protection of the rights of the deported Armenian population.
As reported in the press service of the President of Armenia, on behalf of the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian today at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial a tribute was paid to the memory and a wreath was laid at the khachkar, perpetuating the memory of the innocent victims of the Sumgait massacre.
