YEREVAN. – There are issues concerning women who are majority in Armenian society. The main issue refers to involvement of women in social-political as well as in scientific and technological fields, said
representatives of University educated women association NGO in Gyumri.

The NGO representatives participated in the fiftieth UN session on women status.

“Every fifth woman has a higher education in the Armenian society. However, in reality this potential is not used properly,” said the president of the association Jemma Hasratyan.

Among main reasons are mentality of Armenian society and preoccupation of the majority of Armenian women with family-related issues.
