Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that many in Saudi Arabia want to normalize relations with Israel, expressing the hope that the kingdom will join the Abraham Accords negotiated during the Donald Trump administration.

Under the Abraham Accords brokered by Trump last year, four Arab states - the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan - have agreed to establish relations with Israel.

According to Pompeo, Abraham Accords were made possible by the assassination of the powerful Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in a US Air Force airstrike as it strengthened trust between Washington and its Arab allies.
