True, the people who fired gunshots on March 1, 2008 are not revealed, but the murders and the backdrop on which the murders were committed are revealed. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during today’s rally at Republic Square in Yerevan.

“Public events have been held in Armenia on March 1 for the past 13 years. After the events that took place on March 1, 2008, the events have been held in commemoration of the ten victims. However, on March 1, 2021, we are holding the event in a totally different situation. We are facing new challenges in terms of security, foreign policy, regional issues and domestic politics, and the future of our country and people depends on how we resist those challenges. We have made all the possible mistakes over the past 31 years of independence. Over the past two years and ten months, my Cabinet and I personally have made all the possible mistakes, and I would like to apologize to all citizens of Armenia, Diaspora Armenians and all citizens of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Unfortunately, my government is not the only government that has made mistakes in Armenia, and as Prime Minister of Armenia, I want to apologize to the people for all the mistakes made by all the governments of the Third Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said, adding that there have also been achievements and stated that the major achievement is that the people have power to form a government.

“The right of the people to form power must not be at risk at all. In Armenia, only the people must determine who must be in power,” he added. According to him, the events that took place on March 1, 2008 were a major milestone in the struggle of the people for power.
