The United States is imposing sanctions on seven Russian government officials in connection with the detention of Kremlin critics Alexei Navalny, said a high-ranking representative of the US administration.

According to him, the US is also tightening restrictions on exports to Russia, blacklisting 14 institutions, TASS reported.

The list will be published today, it includes 14 institutions subject to the greatest export restrictions: nine of them are Russian, three from Germany, one from Switzerland, one is a state research institute.
