YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Yesterday, Mikayel Minasyan [former Ambassador to the Vatican, and son-in-law of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan] had reported noteworthy information that "the NSS [National Security Service] wiretapped Onik Gasparyan a few months ago and recorded the telephone conversation between the Chief of the General Staff [of the Armed Forces] and Serzh Sargsyan…it will be publicized soon."

We tried to find out what it was about. It turns out that this conversation took place in December, on the days of [PM] Nikol Pashinyan's heading for Syunik [Province]. Serzh Sargsyan was informed that before Pashinyan left for Syunik, Onik Gasparyan visited Syunik on December 19 to organize so that the visit of the prime minister to be held on December 21 would not be hindered.

It was already known a day before that the people of Syunik would not allow Pashinyan to enter the province, so only the enforcement could have settled that matter. This news surprises Serzh Sargsyan that the head of the GS [General Staff] has undertaken that low mission.

When Gasparyan is told Serzh Sargsyan's surprise, he becomes so indignant that he calls Serzh Sargsyan through direct link and says angrily, “I have nothing to do with his visit. How can I be engaged in such a thing?” And he is so angry that he even swears at Pashinyan that, “I am not his lackey.”

This conversation was recorded by the NSS, which they want to publicize.
