During today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan dodged a question whether there is a separate document on Armenia’s Syunik Province or not.

In response to a question about a memorandum that was posted on the Internet, Avinyan said the Ministry of Defense of Armenia had issued a press release regarding security in Syunik Province on December 19, 2020 and added that there was no need for further explanation.

Deputy of the opposition Bright Armenia faction Taron Simonyan asked Avinyan again if such a document has been signed, who has signed it or whether it was signed under pressure or not, to which Avinyan said such a document can be implemented only after the parliament’s ratification, but the parliament hasn’t ratified it.
