The opposition Homeland Salvation Movement, which is holding a rally on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan, has announced intermission. Member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party Gegham Manukyan stated that the opposition is waiting for news from the presidential residence to see whether President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian will apply to the Constitutional Court in regard to the petition to dismiss Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan or not.

Yesterday Armen Sarkissian declared that he won’t sign the decree on dismissing Onik Gasparyan, but he also won’t apply to the Constitutional Court with the issue. Today he had a meeting with representatives of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement, who urged the President to apply to the Constitutional Court, after which the President promised to express his stance during the day.
