The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, does not consider the possibility of revising the format of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement. He said this at Thursday’s press conference for Russian media, answering the question whether he was going to lead this movement, Sputnik-Armenia reports.

Kocharyan noted that he truly supported this movement which managed to unite a considerable part of the Armenian society around it.

According to him, the leader of this movement—its PM candidate Vazgen Manukyan—is a worthy and seasoned politician.

Kocharyan recalled that the task of this movement is to achieve the resignation of the incumbent government and the holding of snap parliamentary elections a year later.

But Manukyan will not run in those elections. In that sense, in Robert Kocharyan's opinion, there are not many politicians in Armenia who are ready to assume such a major responsibility.
