Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan today met with World Bank (WB) Regional Director for the South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister reports.
The Deputy Prime Minister greeted the guest, expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation with the WB and emphasized that the WB is one of Armenia’s key partners.
Molineus said he was happy to be in Armenia and expressed the WB’s willingness to continue the ongoing cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented the current priorities of the Armenian government’s economic policy and touched upon the Economic Recovery Plan and a few components of the Plan, particularly the support to agriculture.
The parties also touched upon public governance reforms in Armenia. The Deputy Prime Minister presented the progress made in this sector and noted that the electronic signature tool will be available this year.
The parties also discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the areas of healthcare, education, energy, agriculture and water resource management. The fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the actions to be taken to overcome the pandemic, the actions to neutralize the social and economic consequences, as well as intensification of efforts in the direction of climate change and green economy were also on the agenda.
