Russia looks forward to deepening dialogue with the United States on a number of regional topics, including Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria, and the Iranian nuclear deal, the Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said.

He noted that the Russian side is also in favor of deepening the dialogue on the situation in the Middle East, problems in Latin America, Asia, and Africa."

According to Antonov, it would be in the interests of Moscow and Washington to join efforts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, terrorism, the proliferation of WMD (weapons of mass destruction), and climate change, as well as joint space exploration and the protection of the Arctic ecology.

Antonov also said that one should think about holding a joint meeting of the foreign ministers and defense ministers of Russia and the United States.
