Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Iran have a single position on the implementation of transport projects in the region. If Armenia behaves normally, it can [also] benefit from that process. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Thursday said this at the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Azerbaijani media reported.

"The Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] conflict is over after Azerbaijan's glorious victory over Armenia. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in the past. We are thinking about the future now. We have started discussing transport projects that unite many countries to ensure peace and stability in the region," the Azerbaijani president stressed, according to Interfax-Azerbaijan.

In addition, he stated that the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020 envisages the construction of a transport corridor that will connect Azerbaijan with its exclave of Nakhchivan and with Turkey. In this regard, Aliyev called on the ECO member states to join this project.

"I would like to note that the new corridor, which will pass through Azerbaijan’s historical territory—Zangezur—and will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic and Turkey, will create new opportunities in the transport sector. We invite the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization to make use of the Zangezur corridor," he added.
