YEREVAN. – How do you feel when you learn that the President of Turkey, as well as the Turkish Gray Wolves organization, support the Prime Minister of Armenia—your team leader? Do you feel ashamed? The MPs of majority My Step faction were asked this by a reporter during Friday’s briefings of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA).
In response, My Step MP Hayk Konjoryan said as follows, in particular, addressing the aforesaid reporter: "I am having the feeling that in that case, you are using that statement against the RA government, the Prime Minister, which I believe was one of [Turkish President] Erdogan's goals. He made that statement so that someone in Armenia would pick up that passed ‘ball’ with passes and then target the RA government. (…). That is why I believe that all the political forces, circles in the RA, which want no one to interfere in the internal affairs of our country, each of them should not allow such statements which have ulterior motives, those ulterior motives do not become the subject of political speculation in Armenia."
And My Step lawmaker Suren Grigoryan, in turn said: "The probability of such statements will considerably decrease when Turkey and other countries see that these statements do not become an internal political agenda in Armenia, including in the form of questions from reporters."
