YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The events following the announcement by former President Serzh Sargsyan about the purchase of body armors during the [recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war are quite interesting.
Yesterday, the RA Ministry of Defense responded to the inquiry of the Zhoghovurd daily and stated that during the war, the body armors (worth 600 [US] dollars) were not supplied to the central base (…) by bypassing the RA Ministry of Defense and purchasing [them] by the RA Government.
Let us recall that Serzh Sargsyan had made a scandalous statement during the interview given to ArmNews, talking about "robbery and devouring." According to him, during the war, the government, bypassing the MOD, bought body armors for 600 dollars. And although the Ministry of Defense, in fact, refutes the third president, it is interesting that the government had considered all this a state secret.
In this situation, it is difficult to believe any department.
