Armenian defense ministry has denied reports on deploying nearly 500 Russian peacekeepers in Armenia's Tavush province.

"Once again, we urge you to refrain from disseminating unverified, let alone false, information," the statement said.

Earlier the former Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan wrote that right now the Azerbaijani "peacekeepers" are taking measurements in the Azatamut community of the Tavush province.

The head of the Azatamut community also told NEWS.am that there are Russian peacekeepers in the region.
