YEREVAN. – The Investigative Committee of Armenia has completed its investigation of the criminal case it has opened against ex-PM Vazgen Manukyan—the PM candidate of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement—into his calls made during the rallies held at Liberty Square in Yerevan on February 12 and 20.

Also, the Committee said in a statement that it had previously informed that Manukyan had been charged under the Criminal Code articles on making public calls for seizure of power, violation of territorial integrity, or forcible overthrow of the constitutional order,  and signature bond on not leaving the country had been chosen as a precautionary measure against him.

But on Tuesday, a decision was made to change the charges against Manukyan, and he was charged again under the Criminal Code Article 301: Public calls for changing the constitutional order of Armenia by force.

The charge was supplemented due to the calls made by Vazgen Manukyan during a rally on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue—across the parliament building—on February 26, which also include violent calls to seize power and overthrow the constitutional order.
