By the order of Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan has been appointed Senior Officer for Special Assignments, the Ministry of Defense reported during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

On November 16, 2020, by the decision of the Prime Minister, Davtyan was relieved of the post of Chairman of the Military Industrial Committee. Davtyan was appointed to the position on July 17, 2020. Earlier, on June 8, he was relieved of the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces to which he had been appointed on May 24, 2018.
