Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Onik Gasparyan, is considered relieved of his post by force of law. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote about this on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

Also, he published the respective announcement posted on the official page of the government.

As per this announcement, on February 25, the Prime Minister submitted a proposal to the President to dismiss Onik Gasparyan from the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, attaching a respective draft decree.

On February 27, the Prime Minister's Office received the President's objections to the above-mentioned draft.

The objections submitted by the President were not accepted by the Prime Minister, about which a letter was sent to the President on February 28—with relevant arguments.

Taking into account the fact that the President did not sign the draft submitted by the Prime Minister and did not apply to the Constitutional Court within the set timeframe, as of Wednesday, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, is considered relieved of this post by force of law.
