Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan needs to leave Onik Gasparyan alone, and Gasparyan needs to continue to serve as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. This is what deputy of the opposition Bright Armenia Party Ani Samsonyan told reporters today.

According to her, Bright Armenia Party has told Pashinyan that it will agree to sign a memorandum and go to snap elections, if the Prime Minister stops the conflict with the army, adding that the remaining issues can be solved after the elections.

The deputy emphasized that this is still the condition since the current situation has a negative impact on the army. “If there is no atmosphere for cooperation, there can’t be talks about border protection and restructuring of the army. We can’t hope for changes in the army, if domestic issues aren’t solved. We need to decide what is more important — the internal conflict or national security,” Samsonyan stated.
