Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan today chaired a discussion on services provided to citizens under the one-stop shop principle. The Deputy Prime Minister delivered an opening speech in which he stated the following:

“Several state bodies have launched reforms in the area of services provided by state and local self-government bodies that are sometimes conceptually and substantively different from each other. In this sense, a need has emerged to unify the government’s policy for reforms in the provision of state and community services.

The government has initiated several programs. It has finished developing the Strategy on Reforms in Public Governance”, one of the four areas of which is the reforms in state and community services. Today ministries will briefly share their views on the model of offices of state and community services in order to specify the government’s policy in the state and community services sector and harmonize the actions.”

During the discussion, the report on the system of integrated social services was presented. The next item on the agenda was the concept paper on the introduction of a new system for the provision of public services, followed by the standards of services provided by the state. The participants exchanged views on state and community services and made comments and suggestions regarding the current state of reforms. They attached special importance to the coordinated implementation of reforms in the sector of services provided by state and local self-government bodies. In this context, they underscored the need for implementation of reforms within short periods of time, proceeding from the one-stop shop principle.
