Due to the pandemic, the year 2020 became the worst year for world economy since World War II. This is what President of Russia Vladimir Putin said during a consultation devoted to the measures aimed at increasing investment activity in the country, RIA Novosti reports.

Putin also stated that the GDP of the planet was cut by 3.5% in 2020.

“There are objective reasons. The first reason was the epidemiological situation and the compulsory restrictions which had a negative impact on business and the dynamics of the economy in general,” Putin said.
