At the initiative of Estonia, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today had a telephone conversation with President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, who inquired about Sarkissian’s health and wished him full recovery.
Presidents Sarkissian and Kaljulaid exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation and talked about the coronavirus situation in both countries, the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The interlocutors also touched upon the post-war situation in Armenia, the new challenges that have emerged and several other humanitarian issues. President Sarkissian considered the return of Armenian captives being kept in Azerbaijan and the problems with the detection of missing persons issues that are pivotal and emphasized that Armenia anticipates the support of international partners to solve these issues. At the same time, Sarkissian expressed concern about the position that the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization expressed during and after the war.
