Moscow views any form of disrespect towards the memory of those who fought heroically against Nazism during the years of the Great Patriotic War as unacceptable and immoral. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova declared today, commenting on the vandalism committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Great Patriotic War in the Karin Tak village of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The mentioned information is being verified, and if it is confirmed, we expect the government of Azerbaijan to take appropriate measures to solve the situation…I would like to remind that Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are in solidarity in regard to the fact that victory over Nazism was achieved through the incredible efforts of all peoples of the USSR, and it is our duty to preserve the memory before the future generations. The President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation have stated this several times,” she added.
