The Yerkrapah Volunteers Union (YVU) of Armenia has called for the patriotic people to unite. The respective statement issued on behalf of YVU chairman Sasun Mikaelyan reads as follows in particular:

"It is necessary to waken; the leader of the adversary country [Azerbaijan] is already boasting and threatening to conquer Zangezur, therefore:

It is urgent:

1. The strengthening of all state structures and bodies is a necessity, the continuation of internal instability is unforgivable in this crucial situation for the state of Armenia.

2. The government will present a complete practical plan as soon as possible to get out of the current situation in the country.

3. To consider the necessity of restoring and establishing the internal stability of the state as a priority task, to confront the political forces and individual adventurists which destabilize the situation by their activities.

4. To be fully committed to the further strengthening of the fighting spirit and patriotism of the servicemen.

5. To contribute to the establishment of solidarity in the country and the alignment of the opposing poles.

6. Today, with our faithful unity, clear-headed and flexible policy, we are able and obliged to face external and internal difficulties and challenges, as we were able to do from 1988 to 1994.

7. We will never lose the hope and faith of our heroes who martyred for the independence of Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] to see Artsakh independent.

8. As Supreme Commander Vazgen Sargsyan used to say, ‘The peoples who did not get tired halfway through the war have won, created a state.’

YVU calls not to get tired, not to despair and leave our future to the whims of fate, but to unite as a nation and act for the benefit of our state, statehood and people."
