Davit Galstyan, an arms dealer and monopolist businessman in Armenia (a.k.a. “Patron Davit”) has sued RFE/RL’s Armenian Service and director of the Armenian Service Hrayr Tamrazyan, as reported the Judicial Information System.

Galstyan demands compensation for damage caused to his honor and dignity and public refutation of the factual data deemed to be defamation.

The lawsuit was filed on March 9 and has been inscribed to Judge Avag Gabrielyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.

Galstyan has been under arrest since February 2 and is charged with embezzlement in particularly large amounts under the criminal case launched and being investigated by the Investigation Department of the National Security Service of Armenia.
