On March 11 and 12, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had phone conversations with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Kremlin reports.

The leaders discussed the practical aspects of implementation of the agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh that were enshrined in the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, stated with satisfaction that the ceasefire regime is being maintained unwaveringly and that the situation in the region is generally stable and calm. Aliyev and Pashinyan highly appreciated the effectiveness of the operations of the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed along the length of the line of contact and the Lachin corridor.

The interlocutors also touched upon issues related to the unblocking of economic and transport links in the South Caucasus and, in this context, they mentioned that the activities of the task force co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the countries are positive. They also exchanged views on current issues of Russia’s cooperation with Azerbaijan and Armenia.
