In an interview with Factor.am, leader of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Lilit Makunts said the faction’s position on snap parliamentary elections remains unchanged, that is, the faction is open and ready to hold discussions and take practical steps.

“The Prime Minister has been holding talks with the leaders of the other parliamentary factions over the past week and will end meetings soon, and we hope to consider the options for future actions. In any case, the My Step faction has expressed its political will,” Makunts said, adding that, in terms of the process, there is a procedure for snap elections which, in her opinion, the opposition parliamentary factions have indicated.

“During the talks, we need to understand that they agree on snap elections. The ruling faction has put into circulation the Electoral Code, and if there are comments or objections, we’re ready to discuss them,” she stated.

Makunts said she couldn’t mention dates since the talks need to be held and confirmed the fact that the Prime Minister had had a meeting with the parliamentary faction at the government mansion yesterday, but didn’t provide details.
