YEREVAN. - Past newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: It is obvious even to the naked eye that in recent times, some pro-government circles are targeting RA second president Robert Kocharyan again on a daily basis.
In addition to the fact that these circles have long "specialized" in the issue of the second president and "know seven songs, all seven" about Robert Kocharyan, according to reliable information of Past, they have recently received new instructions from [PM Nikol] Pashinyan in this regard.
The thing is that, according to our government source, the results of the next NSS [National Security Service] inquiry have simply put stress on Nikol Pashinyan, who is diligently trying to convince his [political] team that everything is OK, especially in the provinces, they have a high [popularity] rating in places.
According to our information, as per the results of the latest survey, Nikol Pashinyan's positive [popularity] rating is 12%, anti-rating—48%. But [Pashinyan] was much more outraged by the fact that Robert Kocharyan's [popularity] rating has considerably increased, reaching about 37%, whereas the anti-rating has decreased to 6%. Considering this fact, an order has been issued to start a campaign of discrediting [Kocharyan] as [much as] possible.
