Tanzania’s new President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sworn in, becoming the first female leader of Tanzania, which has a population of 58,000,000, Reuters reported.
After taking oath, Hassan, who has held the office of vice-president since 2015, issued a statement stating that it’s time to bury disagreements and become united as a nation.
President John Magufuli wasn’t in the public eye and made the public assume that he was infected with the coronavirus, but Hassan informed that Magufuli had died from a heart disease.
One of the objectives of the new 61-year-old president is to purchase a coronavirus vaccine. Analysts say her goal is to lead the country to recovery and lay the political foundation for effective governance.
