Armenia’s Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada.
Minister Badasyan expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for visiting the Ministry of Justice and highly appreciated the Japanese government’s efforts to host the Fourteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice excellently in Kioto. In his speech at the Congress, among toher topics, Badasyan also touched upon the large-scale military aggression that Azerbaijan unleashed against the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) under the patronage of Turkey in September 2020 and mentioned that the Armenian people witnessed gross violations of international conventions during the 44-day aggression
During the conversation with the Ambassador, once again, Minister Badasyan thanked the Japanese government for the $3,600,000 in humanitarian aid that the Japanese government allocated to Armenia to neutralize the consequences of the war and touched upon the results of the meeting with Minister of Justice of Japan Yoko Kamikava.
Yamada attached importance to the two ministers’ meeting and informed that it will be hard for him to leave Armenia after he ends his diplomatic mission in the near future. Badasyan expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his personal contributions to the cooperation between Armenia and Japan and wished him success in his future career.
