Former chief of staff of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Edgar Ghazaryan today told reporters that the National Security Service needs to launch a criminal case against Nikol Pashinyan for overthrow of the constitutional order and that Nikol Pashinyan needs to be involved as an accused.

According to him, the constitutional order has been overthrown in Armenia once again since Pashinyan had no right to announce the date for elections since only the President of Armenia has such powers.

“Besides the procedures provided for by the Constitution, I would like to remind that the country is in martial law during which any election is prohibited, meaning Pashinyan is violating the Constitution once again,” Ghazaryan added and explained that snap elections can be held only after the parliament is dissolved and that there are any other means to impeach Pashinyan.

Ghazaryan recalled Pashinyan’s statements that the forces supporting the revolution will run in the next elections and expressed certainty that Pashinyan will announce the parties that will run in the elections and how many votes they will garner.
