In an interview with Radio LBC, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UK Andrey Kelin said Russia and the UK will continue their economic and cultural cooperation, but their political ties are ‘almost dead’.

Kelin also mentioned that London has chosen the ‘hostile way’ of relations with Moscow, but the circle of the Russian party doesn’t understand this, Moskovski Komsomolets reported.

Kelin explained that the UK takes as a basis the allegations of human rights violations addressed to the Russian Federation, but the diplomat disagreed with the allegations and said each side has its problems and approaches. “Human rights is an intricate sector, but it concerns the sovereignty of a state,” Kelin mentioned.
