Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian today held phone talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation of Spain Arancha Gonzalez Laya.

The foreign ministers highly appreciated the dynamics of the development of the friendly relations between Armenia and Spain and exchanged views on the prospects for the strengthening and deepening of cooperation in the sectors of mutual interest.

During the phone talks, the parties also exchanged views on several issues on the Armenia-European Union partnership agenda, the upcoming Eastern Partnership agenda and the “post-2020” vision of the Eastern Partnership. They expressed certainty that full and effective implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership will bring a new sweep to the promotion of the mutually beneficial cooperation with the EU and EU member states.

The Armenian and Spanish foreign ministers also touched upon regional stability and security and humanitarian issues. Minister Aivazian presented the difficult humanitarian situation created in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the actions being taken to address the situation, attaching importance to the involvement of the international community and relevant specialized institutions on the spot.
