YEREVAN. – The de facto executive [power] ignores the judicial act, and by disregarding the fact that the court says Onik Gasparyan has not been dismissed from office, the prime minister makes a new statement that another person has been appointed, by virtue of law, to the post of Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces. Gasparyan's lawyer Artur Hovhannisyan told this to NEWS.am, referring to PM Nikol Pashinyan’s earlier statement where it is noted that Artak Davtyan is considered, by virtue of law, appointed as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia.

"Naturally, with this, they prevent in every way Mr. Gasparyan from exercising his powers on the basis of the judicial act, and we believe that there are interest-based motives here. And that is why we will send our reports to the Prosecutor General's Office today or tomorrow to initiate a criminal case. And we will continue the defense of Mr. Gasparyan at the Administrative Court, we will make the necessary adjustments due to the latest situation, and we will probably have new surprises in the future," Hovhannisyan added.
