Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian today had a telephone conversation with acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon Charbel Wehbe, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of Armenian-Lebanese relations hinged on mutual trust and close friendship and underscored the two countries’ willingness to take actions for further expansion and enrichment of the bilateral agenda.

In this context, the foreign ministers emphasized the major role of the Lebanese-Armenian community in all sectors of public life in Lebanon and the community’s major contributions to the strengthening of friendship between the two countries. They also attached importance to the mutual support and the strengthening of cooperation within international organizations.

Foreign Ministers Aivazian and Wehbe thoroughly touched upon regional security and stability. Minister Aivazian called his counterpart’s attention to the consequences of the large-scale that Azerbaijan unleashed against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) with Turkey’s direct participation and particularly expressed concern about Turkey transferring mercenaries and armed terrorists from Syria and Libya to the zone of hostilities.
