From the perspective of water resources, there are problems in the Araks-Akhuryan sector that are linked to Turkey’s construction of reservoirs. This is what acting Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center SNCO Levon Azizyan told reporters today.
“It’s not by chance that today Armenia has less water by 100,000,000 cubic meters compared with the previous year. Turkey launched construction of a reservoir in 2012, and due to this, Armenia water resources have decreased by 30-40%,” he said.
According to Azizyan, from the perspective of water resources, climate change (global warming) is a serious problem, and it has been recorded since 1994.
