The Homeland Defenders Rehabilitation Center of Armenia today hosted an event devoted to eight servicemen who fought in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh and walked for the first time with prostheses after their lower extremities were amputated.

In the beginning of this year, the Center opened a state-of-the-art prosthetics laboratory that uses prostheses produced in the Netherlands and is replenished with German prostheses for legs.

“Today our boys have the opportunity to receive high-quality prostheses. The most patriotic boys in the world will walk again, and this is a great joy and pride. We have high-quality prosthetics systems and specialists to place prostheses,” Rector of Yerevan State Medical University Armen Muradyan said during the event.

Head of the Soldiers Home organization Haykuhi Minasyan informed that 114 soldiers’ upper extremities and legs have been amputated.

To date, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has provided nearly $1,000,000 for these efforts.
