Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Harutyunyan today chaired a regular consultation with the heads of relevant departments of the Government of Armenia.
In his speech, Pashinyan stated the following: “Today we have gathered to discuss our social-economic agenda and cooperation, as well as the course of implementation of the programs that the governments of Armenia and Artsakh are carrying out. I would like to remind that restoration of normal life in Artsakh is one of the major provisions stated in the roadmap that I presented on November 18, 2020. I must say that there are quite tangible results, but there is still a lot of work to do.”
In his turn, President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan stated the following: “I would like to welcome this meeting and thank the Prime Minister for organizing this meeting. I would also like to thank the Government of Armenia for the social programs that it is carrying out in the post-war period. The results are tangible in the sense that most of the population, that is, nearly 120,000 citizens of Artsakh are currently living in Artsakh, and it seems as though Artsakh has succeeded in providing them with everything they need in terms of normal life. There are up to 30,000 residents who live in Armenia, and fortunately, very few residents have left Armenia. Our key objective is to solve the problem with housing, and there is a lot of work to do in order to build and provide homes and create jobs. The second objective is to solve the problem with compensation for damages since most of our compatriots have suffered major damages, and we need to make a decision on this together.”
