President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Harutyunyan today met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Aivazian in Yerevan, the press service of the President of Artsakh reports.
“During the meeting, the parties thoroughly touched upon the actions being taken to solve the humanitarian and social-economic issues that emerged in Artsakh after the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression and, in this context, attached importance to the unimpeded involvement of international specialized institutions on the spot.
In the context of humanitarian issues that need to be addressed urgently, President Harutyunyan and Minister Aivazian exchanged views on the actions being taken for repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages and viewed Azerbaijan’s needless politicization of the issue as inadmissible.
The parties also underscored the need for an ultimate political solution to the Azerbajian-Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. In this regard, they stressed the cornerstone role of the recognition of the rights of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and security in the context of a fair resolution of the conflict,” the press release reads.
