Agnes Callamard, who led the UN investigation into the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, has been named the new head of Amnesty International.
An international human rights group said Callamard is taking office for a four-year term on Monday.
Callamard said she is honored to be Secretary-General and to work with Amnesty supporters around the world to work together to defend and demand respect for human rights for all.
