A Boeing officially registered in Armenia was not hijacked and was never in the country. This is what Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Suren Papikyan said in response to deputies’ questions during today’s parliamentary session.

According to him, Fly Armenia Airways is registered in Armenia, but its planes make flights beyond the borders of Armenia, and the Boeing, which sparked questions, has never made a landing in Armenia.

“Even when the plane disappeared, that Boeing was permitted to fly in-between other countries. Law-enforcement authorities are exploring the reasons behind the hijacking of the plane, but Armenia wasn’t a participant either way. The only thing we can say is that the plane is officially registered in Armenia,” Papikyan stated.
