By the summer of 2021, the European Union (EU) plans to vaccinate 70% of the population against the coronavirus, reports Izvestia newspaper.

A total of 108.3 million doses were in the first quarter of this year, and deliveries are expected to increase—to about 360 million doses—in the second quarter. However, the speed of distribution of vaccines will depend mainly on the member states, as this matter is not within the jurisdiction of the EU, but of the member states, according to the respective statement.
