YEREVAN. – At Thursday's Cabinet session, the government of Armenia made an amendment to the law on the state budget for 2021, by which it allocated 427.7 million drams to the Public Broadcaster's Council.
The reasoning behind this decision states that the necessity of this decision is conditioned by the fact that the state-funded Public Television of Armenia plans to set up a separate news channel for the capital Yerevan, on the basis of the current news service, and its main purpose will be to provide operative and impartial information which, at the same time, will ensure the TV viewers’ fundamental rights to receive information.
