Moscow welcomes the initiative for the establishment of friendly and neighborly relations between Yerevan and Baku. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said today when she was asked if Russia is ready to intermediate for the conclusion of a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The agreements reached by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 serve as reliable ground. We are ready to support the process in the future. We still need to overcome many hardships and obstacles. We place emphasis on stability and strong economic development. We hope to move in the direction of the normalization of relations and the creation of an atmosphere of confidence,” she stated.
