Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artur Tovmasyan has issued the following statement on Azerbaijan’s subsequent Armenophobic policy:

“The “War Trophy Park” that Baku opened a few days ago was a vivid manifestation of Azerbaijan’s subsequent Armenophobic and genocidal policy. We witnessed inhumane and humiliating scenes portraying Armenian soldiers and prisoners of war. Such attitude of the Azerbaijani elite not only neglects and violates the norms of international humanitarian law, but also attests to the continuation of the activities of the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan that are combined with interethnic hostility starting from May 12, 1994.

In one of the statements he made after the war that took place in the fall of 2020, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that he had raised such a generation of Armenophobic people that helped determine the outcome of the war. With this, Azerbaijan is clearly showing its anti-humanistic and immoral stance and showing its atrocities against Armenian captives and hostages in Azerbaijani prisons.

The National Assembly of Artsakh fundamentally condemns the activities that Azerbaijan’s military-political leadership is carrying out to destroy Armenians and calls on the international humanitarian community and interested organizations to give a proper evaluation of the violation and humiliation of national dignity.”
